Steady Steps Programme
Steady Steps is a 24-week programme tailored to those who have previously fallen or worry about falling. The programme is designed to help improve balance and stability, teach individuals how to get up safely following a fall, and improve confidence.
Delivered by specialist Instructors, the classes are tailored to each individual's abilities and will progress in difficulty throughout the programme, but within each person's limits.
People are eligible for the Steady Steps programme if they are aged over 65, are at risk of falling (e.g. have a high fear or falling or poor balance) or have fallen less than three times in the past 12 months.
The Steady Steps programme takes place at venues across the borough based upon the need of the local population.
Steady Steps Plus
Once the 24 week programme is completed, we can offer a Steady Steps Plus classes of 12 weeks, which builds and reinforces the skills learnt on the programme. This is charged at £3 per session.
