Chatter Chairs
'Chatter Chairs' are friendly, chair-based sessions, enjoying a complimentary cup of tea, biscuit and a chat for 30 minutes, followed by 30 minutes of gentle seated fitness, including the use of resistance bands (which are provided for you) to help strengthen muscles and joints.
Chatter Chair sessions are FREE of charge, provided that you live in the borough.
Sessions takes place at venues across the borough, based upon the locality of the waiting list.

Steady Steps
Steady Steps is a 24-week programme tailored to those who have previously fallen or worry about falling. The course is delivered by specialist Postural Stability Instructors, who design the sessions to improve balance, endurance, strength. The sessions are progressive and tailored to suit each individual with the overall to improve confidence. Many participants also enjoy the social aspect of the sessions and the sense of community that develops.
People are eligible for the Steady Steps Programme if they are aged over 65, are at risk of falling (eg have a fear of falling or poor balance) or have fallen less than three times in the past 12 months.
The Steady Steps Programme takes place at venues across the borough and are free to attend.

Steady Steps Plus
Steady Steps Plus are weekly classes that aim to maintain and improve the strength, balance and fitness.
Our classes are ideal for anybody who has either, completed a Steady Steps programme, or, anyone who would benefit from weekly sessions, to help improve and maintain their strength, balance and mobility.
Sessions are delivered by friendly and qualified Postural Stability Instructors at a number of venues in Barwell, Hinckley, Markfield & Newbold Verdon. Sessions cost £3.

Older Adults Exercise Group
The Older Adults exercise group is open to anyone 50 years +. The group is designed to give older people their own fun and targeted fitness sessions away from the pressures and concerns of traditional activity groups that put many people off.
The sessions are more relaxed and run so that you can go at your own pace, with plenty of refreshment breaks available.
The group meets every 1st and 3rd Tuesday at Sport in Desford. Sessions start at 10am and run through until 12pm. There is a charge of £2.50.
Currently we offer; Table Tennis, New Age Kurling, Light Yoga/Aerobics, Mild Gym Classes, Tennis, Bowls and we are soon to add Walking Football.
