The trophy win followed a very successful year for schools in the borough, which finished top of the medals table with ten gold, seven silver and six bronze medals. Their success came after taking part in 43 different competitions against schools from across Leicestershire and Rutland as part of the Government's School Games Initiative.
School Sport Manager Chris Ripley of Bosworth Academy said:
"The success is a reflection of the true commitment shown by schools to PE and school sport and the recognition of the value that our students place on representing their school. We should be proud of our achievement and keen to repeat our successes in 2012/13. Thanks must go to everyone involved in making this happen including head teachers, teachers, student sports leaders, local clubs, parents and the pupils themselves."
Councillor Mathew Hulbert, the Borough Council's Children and Young People's Champion, said:
"It was great to attend the School Games and see all the effort being put in by all the young people there. I'd like to congratulate the team from Hinckley and Bosworth for their fantastic achievement and to thank Chris and the rest of the coaches/managers for their work on the day and the lead-up to it."
